Bringing out my acrylics...

Its exasperating how fast one loses skill, laying off of a medium for a while. For me, its been only about a month, but even then if felt as if I was using acrylic as a novice... arrgh! Anyway, the point of this blog is to share a journey, and document the failures along with the successes. So here is it...

14" x 21", acrylic on canvas paper. Ref image by Echaluce in DA.

Perhaps, the grayscale version looks a little better. Sigh... clutching at straws :(

    1. Haha! You better take pictures of your tongue after eating that charcoal :P

But really, jokes apart, its the struggle to paint rather than the outcome that I was hinting at re: failure. I've had some experience already to know how to camouflage that struggle, so that its not as explicit in the outcome as what I felt while painting, but its there alright. The solution is to continue to paint with acrylics all the time, so that I don't have to re-learn it all over again. But that's not what happens all the time. Thank you so very much for you note of encouragement!

This is not the right place to say it, but you been doing some fascinating stuff with the Sargent studies :)
