Brush sketch

Just one brush sketch W.I.P to share - began as a tentative brush drawing, evolved into a more finished rendering in acrylic. 11" x 13.5", on paper. Palette - Burnt Umber, Prussian Blue, Scarlet Lake, Yellow Ocher, Burnt Sienna, Titanium White.

(My apologies if the image is partly 'under-covering' the menu on the right, this is just to show a larger image at first glance)

Here's the finished image by itself:

    1. I hope its not health-related, @ 'feeling down' :( We can't do much about it, not even the doctors can... our bodies much change over time. But knowing your love for life and art, I'm sure those feelings will change soon, as clouds must make way for sunlight. As usual I still can't comment on your blog (arrghhh!) but your art continues to inspire me. Thank you so much for dropping by :)

    1. Ahh, that's good @ not health. As regards art, I think I can totally empathize with that, as would most artists I'm sure. I've even heard it being called the 'Van Gogh moment' @ mixed feelings about one's art, self hate alternating with optimism - so you are in august company :) I do believe that anyone passionate about one's art is bound to pass through such moments of doubt, as sometimes their expectations tend to ride ahead of them. And it often happens at the height of creative activity, when the art is caught in a huge 'skill momentum'. It just shows that you indeed are continuing to go ahead, although may be not at your expected pace. Hence the self criticism.

I've seen your latest art, and I've seen your past work as well, let me tell you... art-wise, you're doing just fine :) And if the health factor is not being a bother a.t.m, all other matters of vexation will hopefully get sorted out in time. Haha @ rude Oz girl. Artists can be temperamental, hey... reason why they aren't bankers! :D
